What does “winter at VC UW” mean?
Of course — Filling in Pets’ Bellies!
This is already the twelfth edition of the annual campaign organised by the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw (VC UW) in support of cats and dogs in need. As every year, we encourage you: let’s fill the bowls of homeless animals together!
Who are we supporting?
Filling in Pets’ Bellies has been part of VC UW since the Centre was established in 2014. During previous editions of the campaign, we have collected over a ton of food for cats and dogs!
This year we support:
- Fundacja Zwierzochron — active since 2014 and a long-standing partner of Filling in Pets’ Bellies; it supports animals staying in shelters and temporary foster homes.
- Fundacja Tymczasem u Magdy — known to many from the Instagram profile @tymczasemumagdy, where you can follow the stories of the furry residents of a foster home in Pruszków.
How to join the campaign?
We encourage you to take part in our events — they are a great opportunity to donate gifts, gain new knowledge, develop new skills, and meet others who care about animals just as much as you do.
Because Filling in Pets’ Bellies is more than just a collection!
This year’s programme includes, among others:
- A meeting with dog behaviourist
- A collage-making workshop
Donations for animals can also be left at our collection point at VC UW:

What are we collecting?
- Food for kittens, adult cats and senior cats — if you're unsure what to buy, choose quality over quantity.
- Food for puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs — again, choose quality over quantity.
- Tick-dropper solutions (note: not collars and not sprays).
- Paper towels.
- Toilet paper.
- Wet wipes.
- Hygiene pads (90×60 cm).
- Standard (non-fine) silicone cat litter.
How long does the campaign run?
Until 21 March.
