After two years of hybrid and online projects, we could meet "offline" again.

It was a year full of challenges: getting to know each other, building new relations, and discovering the changes that took place when we were "online". The year 2022 was also a huge test of solidarity and willingness to help.

We wanted to thank you for being with us during this special time! 

And how did we spend it?

• We collected essential things for Ukraine and conducted workshops and conversations for future students from Ukraine.
• VC UW volunteer Karen Nyakato Kyabega won the 12th edition of the INTERSTUDENT 2022 competition for the best international student in Poland in the bachelor category.
• We built houses for bees and prepared letters and spring decorations for seniors.
• After a two-year break, thanks to the engagement of over fifty UW students from different countries, we created a culture zone during Miasteczko na styku kultur - the Cultural HotSpot UW.
• We ate waffles, played games and made toys for shelter dogs during a picnic in the UW Library Garden.
• We cooked and tried aromatic summer dishes in the heart of the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden. 
• During the Multicultural Meetings at UW about Poland, students of the University of Warsaw presented Polish culture from witches to The Witcher, bringing the participants closer to Polish history, traditions, the basics of the language and musicals.
• Thanks to Theodora, we were looking for Dracula in Romanian comics during the Multicultural Meeting about Romania, and together with Sultan, we went on a virtual trip around Indonesia.
• Once again, together with the Welcome Point, we have created a team of volunteers supporting international UW employees.
• Filling in pets' bellies" Project Team composed of 15 volunteers is now in action to support sheltered animals!
• December was full of a magical atmosphere thanks to the Mission: Christmas Tree. We created over 30 Christmas trees for seniors from CAM Nowolipie!

This year was also busy for another reason. We have become the coordinator of the international project UNICOMM PROJECT - UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY ACTIVE PARTICIPATION PROJECT, which we implement in cooperation with three European institutions from Austria, the Czech Republic and Belgium as part of the Erasmus+ program (Action 2. Cooperation partnerships for higher education).
