The main aim of the "Multicultural Winter Break" project was to invite Polish and international students to conduct educational workshops for children and youth from small towns.
In winter 2020, the Volunteer Center of the University of Warsaw together with PROJECTOR – Student Volunteering organized the "Multicultural Winter Break" project. Polish and international students, graduates and PhD students up to 29 years old interested in sharing knowledge and acquiring training and didactic skills were invited to participate. At the same time the project was a nice possibility to discover various corners of Poland.
The project consisted of two phases:
- Phase I - students took part in workshops on the basics of intercultural communication and training skills to properly prepare for the realization of their projects.
- Phase II - during winter break, project teams went on 4-5-day trips to chosen schools in Poland where they conducted their own workshops related to multiculturalism.
There were 15 participants from Poland and abroad. The project teams managed to conduct 4 multi-day workshops for children and youth in various regions of Poland. The classes were very popular among pupils, and they allowed students to gain new experiences and skills.
Participation in the project was free of charge.
