We invite you to a unique meeting from the Nansen Dialogues series - this time in the form of a picnic in the University of Warsaw Library Garden. 

We will talk about the flavours we associate with home – those familiar and surprising ones. About food that brings back memories and creates a sense of closeness.

It is a perfect opportunity to slow down for a moment, meet people from different fields and with different interests. Without judgment, without pressure, but with curiosity about each other. 

We encourage you to bring a small snack that you associate with home. It can be your favourite childhood sweet, a traditional baking from your region, or a dish that was always in your kitchen. A taste that immediately takes you back home.

Practical information:

• The meeting will be held in English.
• The sessions are designed to be independent, so you can easily join the meeting even if you haven’t attended the previous one.
• Dialogue involves active participation (through attentive listening and/or speaking in your own voice).
• Undistracted time is important, so we kindly ask you to be punctual.

What are the Nansen Dialogues?

Public dialogue in the methodology of the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue is an open conversation on any topic, conducted in a way that ensures safety for all participants. They share their experiences and reflections, while a facilitator oversees the meeting, actively listening and asking questions to deepen the conversation. 

How to take part?

We warmly invite University of Warsaw students and doctoral candidates – both Polish- and English-speaking – to join the meetings.

For organisational reasons, you need to sign up to take part in the meeting.

About the author and facilitator of the series

Julia Niemiec – multi-hyphenate combining communication, public affairs, culture, and media activities. Dialogue and conflict resolution facilitator using the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue method. She graduated in journalism and media from the University of Warsaw and in theater studies from the Institute of Art of The Polish Academy of Sciences. Volunteer at the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw.
