How do friendships develop? What makes it easy to connect with some people and more difficult with others?
We invite you to the next meeting in the Dialogues series, where in a small group we will talk about building relationships and getting to know new people.
Dialogue is an opportunity to pause for a moment in the middle of a busy day and meet people from different fields of studies. No judgement, no pressure, just curiosity about one another.
The next Dialogues meeting will take place on 24 March at 5:30. Topic: Making friends. Join the dialogue!
When?
24 March 2026 (Tuesday)
5:30 – 7:30 pm.
Where?
The Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw (the University of Warsaw Library building on the ground floor, behind the Poster Gallery).
What are the Nansen Dialogues?
Dialogue based on the methodology of the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue is an open conversation on a chosen topic, held in a safe and thoughtful space. Participants share their experiences and reflections, while the facilitator guides the meeting, listens actively and asks questions that help deepen the discussion.
The meeting has a structured framework but no hidden agenda. It is not a debate or an attempt to persuade others. The aim is to create space for reflective conversation and a better understanding of ourselves and others.
Topic of the meeting: Making friends
Practical information:
- The meeting will be held in English.
- The sessions are designed to be independent, so you can easily join them even if you haven’t attended the previous ones.
- Dialogue involves active participation (through attentive listening and/or speaking in your own voice).
- Undistracted time is important, so we kindly ask you to be punctual.
- The meeting will finish with a casual tea and networking – feel free to stay.
How to take part?
We warmly invite University of Warsaw students and doctoral candidates – both Polish- and English-speaking – to join the meetings.
If you would like to take part, you can either:
- send an email to wolontariat[@]uw.edu.pl by 22 March 2026 (please include your name and study programme) to receive a reminder about the event, or
- come to the Volunteer Centre of UW on the day of the meeting and show your valid student/doctoral ID card.
