Collaboration with the Intergenerational Activity Centre „Nowolipie”

Since 2022, the Volunteer Centre of the University of Warsaw

(VC UW) has been regularly collaborating with the Intergenerational Activity Centre „Nowolipie” (CAM). These joint activities provide an excellent opportunity to foster intergenerational and intercultural relationships, acquire new skills, take a break from daily responsibilities, and bring joy to others.

As part of this collaboration, the following events have taken place:

  • Annual „Mission: Christmas Tree” workshops – The University of Warsaw community, together with seniors from CAM, creates Christmas decorations. These decorations are delivered to elderly individuals who, due to health reasons, are unable to leave their homes, as well as to children living in war-affected areas of Ukraine. Additionally, festive drawings made by children from the UW preschool and nursery are included with the gifts, making the initiative even more intergenerational.
  • Annual workshops as part of the „Filling in pets’ bellies” action – Volunteers from VC UW and CAM work together to create toys for cats and dogs in need of homes. These toys are donated to partner organisations that support animal welfare.
  • „Spring: Do It Yourself” workshops – To celebrate the first day of spring, participants, including seniors and volunteers, created decorations that brought a spring atmosphere to the Intergenerational Activity Centre „Nowolipie”.

Through these initiatives, participants not only create together but also build relationships, share experiences, and inspire one another.
